Work Life Balance - Flexible Work Is A Priority For Jobseekers In 2025

31% of workers are still unhappy with their work-life balance and that number is surprisingly high.

As more companies encourage (or mandate) a return to the office, will this percentage climb even further?

Work Life Balance flexible work

Personally, I see in-office time as essential for growth, learning, and real collaboration. For many roles, 2–3 days a week in the office should be the norm, if it’s reasonable.

But here's the key to being reasonable: flexibility must come with it.

Late starts, early finishes, childcare, appointments, and mental/physical health needs are part of life. When businesses acknowledge this, hybrid work becomes not only sustainable - it thrives.

There is a balance to be struck.

So the real question is: why aren't more businesses getting it right?

At ECW Search, we believe that work should empower people, not drain them. A healthy work-life balance isn’t just a perk - it’s a foundation for productivity, retention, and real engagement.

Whether it’s rethinking flexible working, supporting mental health, or redesigning how teams collaborate, the companies that listen to their people will lead the future of work.

It’s time to make balance a business priority!
